International Education Week (IEW)

ACES students pride themselves on being ambassadors of their home country and sharing their culture with their American family, friends, school and hosting community. From November 14th-18th ACES students all over the U.S. gave special presentations to be a part of the global educational event, International Education Week. ACES students gave presentations, showed videos and shared songs, dance, and food from their home country with to their classmates and community.

In addition to showing a video and telling her classmates funny things about her culture, ACES K-L YES scholar Kesi from Albania had her classmates play a map game where they popped a balloon on a map of Albania and recited information about the Albanian city to the rest of the class. Kesi writes, “My goal was to share information about my country without people getting bored. I also learned that it is a great pleasure to see all those people interested in another culture. I really felt like a real ambassador for the first time.” For more information on International Education Week, visit www.iew.state.gov
