2011 National Meeting
Early this February, the ACES National Office united more than 40 people including Local Coordinators, Regional Directors and overseas partners for our annual ACES National Meeting. The event centered around three main focuses:
- Discussing new State Department regulations that affect the J-1 visa High School Homestay program,
- Brainstorming about how to promote international exchange and create the best experience for students, host families, coordinators, and schools, and
- Learning about the cultural diversity of Latin America through presentations by visiting overseas partners from Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico and Brazil.
Local Coordinators and Regional Directors who have worked with ACES for five years received commemorative awards for their outstanding dedication, and those who have served for 10 years received our honorary Cultural Ambassador Award.
The National Meeting left the ACES team feeling more solidified than ever. We are excited and motivated as we launch into our 16th successful year promoting cultural exchange and international friendships through our various Programs.
