Time is passing by so rapidly that all of us are trying to squeeze as much as possible into each remaining day! Of course, classes with our beloved Tian Laoshi and Zhu Laoshi continued each day. Here are photos of the two sections:

The cultural activities during this week included Chinese calligraphy:

Another cultural activity our group enjoyed was learning traditional Chinese knot-tying. Here are some photos, courtesy of Megan, highlighting our newly acquired knot-tying abilities:

The highlight of the past week was undoubtedly our trip to the countryside in Fuping County (the home county of Xi Jinping’s father) to visit a school for the children of migrant workers, many of whom are able to visit their children only once or twice a year. The kids were so adorable and very appreciative of our visit, during which we conversed with them in Chinese, taught them a bit of English, played games, and sang songs together. Afterwards the head of the school told us this had been the first time the kids had ever interacted with foreigners and that the visit had had a huge impact on them. Here now are some photos of our visit to the school:

Finally, Gu Laoshi (Resident Director Neil Kubler) completed the last 5 home visits. Here are photos of those visits:
